Chris studied Agricultural Engineering at Berkshire College of Agriculture and has been involved with machinery for the maintenance of the outdoors for nearly 30 years, achieving outstanding
sales success both for himself and for the companies and products he has represented. Selling domestic garden machinery to heavy plant, he has been involved with Massey Ferguson, Iseki, Ransomes, Kubota, Etesia and Jacobsen at dealer level (the coal face). Chris has been connected with Kersten products for nine years, steadily growing both the brand in the UK and the company supporting the product.
“I’ve found one of the greatest challenges has been to transform the company from one or two people helping me, to a team of nine dedicated staff with their own targets and responsibilities within the growing company”.
This change has enabled the company to handle additional product ranges which has driven growth and provides a robust spring board for the future.
“I put great emphasis on staff training”, he continued, “I believe personal development has to be one of everybody’s key motivations.”
Chris was very pleased to be able to move Kersten UK to their own premises in Reading last year, develop the groundscare consultancy, and sees it as another milestone in the company’s progress.
Area Sale Manager
Following his apprenticeship with the MOD, where he gained an HND in Mechanical Engineering, Trevor spent much of his career in manufacturing, finally with Ford Truck at Langley. Trevor then started his own Garden Machinery business with the leading franchises, which he ran for 25 years.
During this period he began to work with Chris Faulkner and eventually joined Kersten, where his knowledge of machines, customers and dealers has enabled him to take the responsibility of Sales Manager for the Midland and North of England.
‘I understand the products, the features and the applications of the Kersten and Meyer Ranges, showing their benefits by working closely with end users with and on behalf of dealers.’ Trevor explained. ‘By showing just how good the equipment is, the more confidence the dealer has to sell our quality brands. It’s all about taking care.’
