Kersten Europe Sales Meeting

Last week, representatives of the Kersten UK team made the journey across the flatlands of northern France and Belgium last week to Rees, Germany for the annual sales meeting. Our continental European counterparts from France, Belgium and the Netherlands were also in attendance as well as our hosts, Kersten Germany.

We discussed sales performance for 2015 and forecasts for 2016 as well as sharing best practice on using dealer networks for greater area coverage.  Last year saw a 13% increase in sales and this year we expect this number to increase again.

The demonstration afternoon saw us getting to grips with the Kersten UBS Alpin – a beast of a machine, capable of being used on inclines or slopes up to 45 degrees, in conjunction with the flail mower.

We were also introduced to the K820’s younger cousin the WeeDo a basic and alternative machine for smaller areas – providing a very good price-performance ratio.

The stars of the day were the new front-mounted tractor attachments. We were shown a hydraulically adjusted front-sweeper brush which follows the contours of the surface, adjusting the brush height in correspondence with the pressure on the brush. The sweeper is controlled by an in-cab controller making adjusting as simple as the touch of a button.

Following this there was a demonstration of the front-mounted, PTO driven, metal weedbrush allows for an aggressive and abrasive edging capability, great for heavy duty jobs such as paths, road edges and runways.

During the meeting we were introduced to a logistics overland transport company, Kuehne + Nagel, who are now working closely with Kersten Germany to ensure shorter, more reliable delivery times from the factory to our office here in the UK. We also have had some exciting news regarding front linkages for a variety of sub-compact tractors, with more information following later on this year – watch this space.

All in all it was a successful trip, providing the opportunity for Kersten suppliers across Europe to network and share knowledge.
